Lock-In

LOCK-IN is a student-focused project that aims to develop a modular phone locker system to help students minimize distractions and stay focused during study sessions. Students will be able to securely store their phones using their Husky Card to access the lockers.

The project combines hardware fabrication and software development to create a functional locking mechanism and modular storage system. There is also potential to introduce a points-based reward system that encourages students to “lock in” and build better study habits.

Beyond the technical work, students will gain experience in project planning, problem-solving, and collaboration. The project also involves communicating with UW and local small businesses, giving students opportunities to develop professional relationships and learn how to bring a project from concept to reality.
