About the Project
The Engineering Design Competitions project gives students the opportunity to take an idea from concept to a functional product built for a collegiate engineering competition. Students will select a state or national competition, identify its requirements and design constraints, and develop a plan to create a product that meets them.
Throughout the year, participants will experience the full engineering design lifecycle, including conceptualization, modeling, fabrication, testing, and iterative redesign. By working through real-world design challenges, students will develop practical engineering skills, collaborate with others, and learn how to turn ideas into working solutions.
The project may continue in future years, potentially growing into a dedicated student organization affiliated with Makers@UW. Students may also choose to pursue different competitions as the project evolves.
We welcome students interested in:

CAD Modeling and 3D Design
Prototyping and Fabrication
Testing, Iteration, and Optimization
