About the Project
AIRA (Automated Intelligent Research Assistant) is a module of LabOS focused on automating benchtop laboratory procedures to reduce repetitive manual tasks for researchers. The initiative aims to streamline experimental workflows and improve efficiency in research environments.
AIRA is an AI-powered robotic arm engineered for research and automation applications, integrating mechanical design with intelligent control systems. The project operates in collaboration with partners at Stanford, Princeton, NYU, OSU, and Viture, contributing to a broader effort to modernize laboratory automation.
By combining robotics, artificial intelligence, and systems integration, AIRA seeks to support researchers by enabling more consistent, scalable, and efficient lab processes.
We welcome students interested in:
•Wet-lab researchers at any level interested in laboratory automation
• Business students interested in startup development and commercialization
• Engineers seeking hands-on experience in robotics, control systems, and AI integration
Students from interdisciplinary backgrounds are encouraged to participate.
